Basic instructions are given for making socks that fit your foot measurements using fingering weight yarn. A pair takes about 230 yards (or 4 ozs) for making a sock to fit a person wearing a size 9 woman's shoe. The sample is shown worked in 2 yarns of different colors. This sock is made from the top down with a flap-style heel. The toe is grafted and tips are given on how to do this smoothly.
